Toki Film Festival Review

Paroa School Song

Kia ora Paroa kura (Hello Paroa School), Ko Zade toku ingoa (My name is Zade). Ka haere ahau ki Karoro kura (I go to Karoro school).

Actors: Paroa kura School: Paroa kura

I really liked the pictures in the middle of the film! They made me laugh! I liked how you made them about helping each other out because that respects our place! You also made the film perfectly about our place because basically all of Greymouth knows about Paroa! The song also has a really catchy beat and it sounds really good! I also liked the tires, how you made them say Paroa!

Praying Mantis

Praying Mantis

 Habitat

The Praying Mantis habitat is in many different places like warm places and tropical rainforests in New Zealand .

 Features

Praying Mantis have many different features. It can camouflage like nature and some mantis can be pink, they are called the Orchid mantis.

 Food & Sleep

Praying Mantis usually eat beetles, grasshoppers, crickets and other pest insects. Praying mantis are nocturnal so they sleep during the day and hunt for animals at night.

 Speed

Praying Mantis can spin around at about 2.5 times per second. That means it can spin 10 whole times in only 4 seconds!

 Jobs

Praying Mantis jobs are to keep away too many insects like spiders, lizards and lots more. They even keep away birds!

 Predators

The Praying Mantis predators include moths, mosquitoes, roaches, flies and aphids, as well as small rodents, frogs, snakes and birds. It fights off all of them with its fighting skills, as the Praying Mantis looks like a karate master.

 Interesting facts

The praying mantis is a master of disguise (probably because it is green like leaves). Did you know that Praying Mantis are agile like cats? That means the can land on their feet when fallen from a high place.

Praying Mantids are awesome creatures! Please take care of them.

Radio waves

Today I made a Screen Castify about radio waves.

I really enjoy this peace of work because it has this really awesome animation at the end just after the introduction.

This was a response to my reading.

Respect

WALT use the word art tool to make a poster about RESPECT.

It was great watching the sesame street video and it gave me some ideas for words for my poster! First we went onto Google Drive, then we created a new Google Drawing, next we went to insert Word art, and last, we changed the colour and went to the box next to highlight, and changed the size of the highlight.

Is there any more words that you think I could add in to show respect?
